Back In The Saddle

I've been doing my self treatments every day, but it was good to get back to group treatments last week - albeit with a slightly reduced group. We must try to get a few more people interested.

I've also experimented on a situation and now I have to work on my leg, which I reinjured today. Wish me luck!

Self Treating

I've managed to get in a couple of full self treatments recently. When I have quiet space I start to feel things again. I always have heat under my hands when treating my ribcage, especially on the right side. Occasionally, as I did the other night, I feel movement of energy, which is something I usually feel with other people - or when other people are treating me.

I get a great sense of well being when I have completed a full self treatment - or done any reiki at all. I also enjoy the group treatments, because there is a great sense of peace and energy.

Finding A Quiet Space

One of the difficult things about living near a main road is that there is traffic noise at all times of day and night. That means that it can be difficult to find a quiet mental space when doing reiki - and I find that is essential if I am going to concentrate on what I am feeling.

It can be achieved, but it takes some work. I find it useful to focus on light (while my eyes are closed) or to think of something relaxing, such as an empty beach. When I do that, I can feel things. This morning, I tried that and immediately noticed an increased warmth under my right hand in position six. I hadn't been feeling it before, because of being distracted. I think techniques for focusing can be a key part of maximising the experience of practicing reiki.

Waking Up Early

I used to be a morning person, but I'm not any more. However, one of the advantages of waking early is that it's one of the few times I get to do a full self-treatment.

At night, I often fall asleep before I finish. In the morning, it's more leisurely (at least until my daughter wakes). I can feel the warmth under my hands and sometimes movement, though my hands don't feel warm to me. However, my daughter and others say they are very warm. Maybe it's because I'm getting used to this feeling.

Geting Used To The Feeling

When I first did Reiki, it was strange to feel the heat in my hands. Now I don't even notice it any more, though other people tell me my hands are warm. My daughter told me the other day that my hugs were very warm, and I don't think she was being abstract.

At the same time, I'm more conscious of the warmth when I do a self-treatment. Last night, my hands were roasting, especially over the ribs and pelvis. It's probably not a coincidence that it's over the gallbladder (or ex-gallbladder) and the symphysis pubis pain.
