Manifesting Your Intentions With Dyan Garris
Dyan Garris is the author of Money and Manifesting, a book that goes beyond The Secret to help people achieve success with manifestation. I’m pleased to welcome her for an interview here today.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to write this book?
“Money and Manifesting” was a natural consequence of the body of work that I’m finishing up building. I’m building a toolbox filled with tools that anyone, anywhere on their journey can pick up, find something that they resonate with, and then use as a platform for spiritual growth and change. I’m a psychic, teacher, energy worker, healer, lightworker, musician, and author. That is many words to say that at a core level I am a clairvoyant counselor. I help people move forward on the path.
Can we talk a bit about the intentions process? Is it o.k. to have wants/desires or is that just feeding one's ego?
It is absolutely okay to have wants, needs and desires and to express those in the form of intention. What really gets in the way of manifesting is when we demand from a place of ego that those things show up and when we demand exactly how they show up. This isn’t creating or manifesting. It is a child asking Santa Claus to bring them what they desire. Where the real power is is in knowing how to align your will and intention with universal will, and then integrating that into your life. In this way you are not manifesting from your ego, but manifesting from your divine right to create.
There is a new-ish book out called "The Secret" that is about the same thing. It has become a phenomenon and has been featured on Oprah. What makes this book different?
“Money and Manifesting” picks up where “The Secret” left off. We have a lot of people out there trying to manifest with just the power of their minds and not understanding why that isn’t bringing them what they desire. The power of positive thinking and utilizing the laws of attraction are but one step in the process of manifesting. And it was important that the information contained in “The Secret,” which never was a secret, filter into mass consciousness and resonate as the truth. “The Secret” is a foundation. “Money and Manifesting” isn’t about the Law of Attraction. It’s about how to activate and integrate the power of creation rather than just think about it. If someone wants to tell Oprah that there is more, that would be fine. However, with or without Oprah, the principles in “Money and Manifesting” will also someday become as widely utilized as the basic principles in “The Secret,” because they are also true. If “The Secret” was the foundation, the information in “Money and Manifesting” can be used to build the house.
There is another very distinct difference, which distinguishes this book not only from “The Secret” but from everything else currently out there on the subject of manifesting. This is not just another manual filled with helpful information. My body of work is about automatic shift. Parts of the book are fictionalized. The reason for having fiction wrapped around the information is that it helps you with the integration process. What you’re doing simply by reading the book is integrating left brain and right brain. Integration is an important step in manifesting. You can think positive thoughts about something all day long. That does not make it appear. You need to do something else and part of that something else is integration. When you get done reading the book you’ve already automatically taken the first steps toward manifesting. What you choose to do with that automatic shift is up to you.
What blocks you from manifesting when you are doing/saying all the "right" things?
In the process of manifesting we have to clear a pathway for energy to flow. That includes clearing a pathway not just for the energy of money to flow, but for the energy of anything to flow. Everything is energy so it’s helpful to have an understanding of how energy works. Since this is a Reiki blog you already know that you cannot force energy or direct it by your own will. Energy flows. An energy pathway can be blocked by core belief systems about whatever it is you’re trying to manifest. So it would be important to examine exactly what those belief systems are and where they came from and then decide what to do about it.
Should one read/repeat one's intentions daily, or just write them out once and leave them alone?
This is a really good question for a lot of reasons. If you are a child and you have a broken toy, you may ask someone “in charge” to fix it for you. Then instead of hovering, giving instructions on how to fix it, or demanding that it be fixed right now, you leave it in capable hands and go out to play. If you knew how to fix it you would have fixed it yourself. Since you didn’t know how to fix it, or perhaps didn’t have an important missing part, you trusted that “the powers that be” would either be able to fix it or replace it with something equal or even better. The key here is that you let go and went out to play, giving the “fixer” the opportunity to actually fix it. One very important and necessary step in manifesting is letting go. However, when utilizing the Law of Attraction, one knows that whatever you put enough energy on is eventually going to be attracted. I say attracted, but attracting something isn’t the same as manifesting. So, after you’ve put a sufficient amount of daily energy on something such as your intentions, you do need to let it all go so that the energy of what you’re intending to create can flow back to you. To not let go is to get in your own way.

How to Learn Reiki and Become a Reiki Master
How to Learn Reiki and Become a Reiki Master
By Chris Robertson
Reiki is a spiritual and physical healing practice that helps individuals overcome health issues and produce stress management in their lives. Reiki has been used for healing since the end of the last century, but is still growing in popularity today. Listed below are the steps to take if you desire to learn Reiki and become a Reiki Master.
There are three levels of Reiki that must be completed in order to become a Reiki Master. These are the First Degree level, the Second Degree level, and the Master/Teacher, or Third Degree, level. Each level is explained below.
First Degree Reiki
In the First Degree level of Reiki, you'll learn how Reiki works, Reiki's historical background, and the different types of Reiki systems that exist today. You'll also be initiated into Reiki and receive your first Reiki energy experience through Reiki Attunement.
Through Reiki Attunement, you'll learn first-hand how to tune in to Reiki energy and use it for stress management and physical and emotional healing. This initiation usually involves lying on your back or stomach while a Master or practitioner places his or her hands from your head to toes to approximate the traditional chakra locations. The energy flows through the Master's hands into your body.
Although much training is provided through home courses and online courses, you should receive your Reiki Attunement through a Master in person to fully understand Reiki. Once you've experienced Reiki for yourself, you'll start learning how to give others Reiki treatments.
Second Degree Reiki
In the Second Degree level of Reiki, you'll expand on your initial experiences. You'll learn about distance healing as well. Distance healing involves channeling Reiki energies to someone in another town or even another country! The energy vibration is different with this type of Reiki. It has a higher proportion of energy from the Source and a lower proportion of Chi than the First Degree level. Where the First Degree level promotes primarily physical healing, the Second Degree level promotes healing on a mental, spiritual and emotional level.
Master/Teacher Reiki or Third Degree Level
In the Master/Teacher, or Third Degree, level of Reiki, you'll learn how to use Reiki symbols and what they mean. You'll also learn how to use various methods of stress management such as healing drumming and crystal healing with crystals. You'll become familiar with sacred mantras and how the different energies work so you can teach others. You'll also be able to perform Reiki Attunements.
There are many workshops, online and off-line, to help you learn Reiki. There are also places you can go to have a wonderful Reiki experience, such as the Bell Rock Vortex in Sedona, Arizona. Wherever you go or whomever you choose to help you along the Reiki journey, make sure to open yourself fully to the Reiki energy so you can experience its true healing power.

Taking Note Of Reiki Experiences
The only thing I have not succeeded with is keeping this blog so that I can note things down as they happen. But I am looking forward to our Reiki II meeting tomorrow. It will be fun to hear what others have been up to.

Group Treatment - Jan 23, 2007
When it was my turn to be treated, I felt relaxed but did not fall asleep. There were two experiences of note. The first was when my feet were being treated and I felt as if someone were pushing firmly against them. The second was when my back was being treated and I could hear conversation. Spooky, but interesting.
